Haypp backs EU tax directive amid strong growth in nicotine pouch sales in H1 2025

Haypp Group, an e-commerce player specialising in nicotine pouches and snus, closed the first half of the year with growing performance driven by the nicotine pouch segment.

During the presentation of its financial results, the company also said it welcomed the initial draft of the Tobacco Excise Directive (TED), released in July by the European Commission, which introduced significant tax increases on reduced-risk products, including nicotine pouches. “While the Directive is likely to take years to finalise, we welcome the Commission’s recognition of nicotine pouches as a distinct product category, which is an important step toward comprehensive EU-wide regulation,” the company said.
